Looking for tips to become a better blogger? Read on, my friend…it just might help you in your work at home journey!
Tip 1: As a blogger, learn to create your own identity. In the short run, be yourself! Blog about things that you love, and make sure you posts are passionate about those subject. There is nothing worse than a person blogging something they don’t like or know nothing about. A blogger who is herself will convey confidence in their posts, and thus gain more readership.
Tip 2: Learn to blog with determination. Make yourself blog at least weekly. I’ve learned that at least 2 posts a week, you will gain and keep readership. If you struggle with finding time to post, learn to write scheduled posts. Set aside one day where you have an hour or so to write your posts. This can help you keep your blog interesting, without taking up more hours in another day!
Tip 3: Blog with style. Make sure you blog about things that other people like. A blog soley on the subject of gray shoes might not be so hot on the charts! However a blog about style or entertainment might be better suited! Again, don’t sacrifice your identity to blog about something don’t enjoy…just make sure what you are blogging about is well accepted and loved.
Tip 4: Meet new bloggers! Set aside a few minutes each day to find and meet new bloggers. Leave comments on other blogs that interest you! Better yet, fire off a fun e-mail about how much you enjoy their blog! In turn they may leave you comment love, and even link to your blog! Doesn’t get much better than that does it?
Tip 5: On the subject of comments…always, always return comment favors. If someone leaves you a comment, it is polite to comment on their blog as well (if they have one of course!). This helps guarantee more readers and hopefully more comments for your own blog!
Tip 6: Do your best to use correct spelling and punctuation. It only takes a few minute to run spell check! And it only takes a handful more of minutes to re-read your post to make sure it makes since. Does it have to be perfect? Not always. Your readers know you are human. Then again if your blog is about spelling, then you’ll be even more scrutinized. Ha!
Okay, those were 6 tips that are tried and true in my life! I try to practice these tips. Sometimes I fail. And when I do so, I’m not ashamed to admit it. I do my best, and give 100% to all that I do. In doing so, I can go to bed at night and not worry whether my blog is the mark of perfection or not.
I would be the first to admit, my blog is a work in the making. It’s an art of sort where my ideas, my challenges, my goals and my work collide. In doing so, it provides an extra mean of income. It’s a perfect source for work at home idealists like me.
