Last weeks goals:

Home/Hospitality:

1. Spent time cleaning/organizing/decorating our home for “spring”.

2. Plan six meals for dinner to stay home more this week. Last week was wonderful! Planned 5 out of 6, not bad!

3. Clean out the hall closet (never got to it…)

Work/Hobbies

4. Update website 3-4 times this week.

5. Finish e-book draft.

6. Write guest posts for multiple web sites.

Personal:

7. Start second week of the C25k!!

8. Participate in Pilates at least twice a week.

9. Manicure/Pedicure

Spiritual:

10. Continue reading Psalms during the work week.

A retail establishment in your local market has to pay for a brick-and-mortar location, many different kinds of insurance, many employees and traditional forms of advertising.

By comparison, an Internet merchant can pay a few dollars to set up a website and can pay for a small warehouse space or similar arrangement. Many successful online businesses are run by entrepreneurs out of their own homes with very little overhead. These online businesses can then pass on the savings to you in the form of cheaper prices. The main thing you have to watch out for when buying online is the extra shipping costs. When you buy from a traditional store, you don’t have to worry about paying the shipping.

When you use the Internet regularly, you also have access to a number of deal programs that can save you money. For example, programs like Groupon and Living Social set up negotiated discounts on products that you can find in your local market. Most of the time, the discounts are 50 to 90% off of normal retail price. You can sign up to receive regular email alerts or simply visit the site to get the information about the deal. If you find a deal that you want, you simply pay for it online and then print off a voucher or use your smartphone to access it. When you are ready to use the deal, you simply go into the appropriate merchant and show them the voucher. These programs can be invaluable when it comes to saving money because they provide you with access to many of the services and products that you use anyway in your local market. This could include deals on restaurants, retail stores, dance lessons, movie tickets and a lot more.

The Internet has the power to save you money if you are willing to utilize it. Just keep your options open and you never know what money-saving ideas you’ll come across.

Last Week’s Goals!

Home/Hopitality

1. Clean out the hall closet.

2. Create a menu plan for six dinners at home this week.

Yes! This helped us stay on track and to remain focused on other financial goals, instead of going out to eat several nights each week.

3. Host a get together with other families.

We were able to host a dinner party with both sets of parents. Great time!

Work/Hobbies

4. Continue participating in the daily challenge group for photography.

I participated in several link ups. I want to increase that this week!

5. Update the web site five days this week.

6. Finalize Ebook.

Personal

7. Take time out for a manicure/pedicure

8. Start the 5toK program.

I finished the first week, and it felt amazing!!!!

9. Walk/Bike/Jog a total of 15 miles.

Spiritual

10. Spend time reading through the Psalms each day.

On each week day, I spent several minutes reading through the Psalms for the day.
