Learning to balance my work along with my family is something I can easily let slide. I don’t want my work to evade my time with my husband, the entire reason for my work at home goal was to avoid that entirely. There are a few ways to get around this, so you too can enjoy getting your work done in time to relax with your husband when he comes home.
1) Set A Schedule For Yourself
Every day, I try to get a majority of my work done in the early morning hours. To due this, I get out of bed at an ungodly hour, however I’d rather have most of my work finished before the end of the day. That way, as afternoon rolls around I can focus on getting things done around the house in order to have free time in the evenings.
2) Take Advantage of “Extra Time”
During the week nights or weekends when your spouse and other family members are tied up with something, take advantage of that time to get ahead. Work on projects or finish a few things that will free up your time later in the week.
3) Learn To Say “NO”
If a project is going to require too many hours from you or take away family time, it may be in your interest to simply say “no”. Each person will be in a different stage of life, however it is important to know your limits and stick to them.
