• Try to get your projects done ahead of time. If you have to work a few hours extra, it could give you much needed time off once the holidays are here.
• Try to schedule less appointments if you can handle that!
• If you plan to be off on certain dates, make sure you let your clients know. Ask if they will need anything done before you are on vacation, that way, you won’t leave them with work needs.
• Be sure to create an “away” message for your e-mail, sharing the date you will be back. This is very important if you have clients that only contact you through e-mail rather than phone.
• Take an or or two to determine what needs to be done before you take time off. Schedule to complete those weeks in advance so you don’t have any stress or worries.
• Take time to de-clutter your office, paperwork, e-mail and social networks before the holiday season hits. That way, you can bring in the new year with ease.

Another phase in learning to work at home, is using resources to your advantage. The more you learn, the better prepared you will be. I like to think of it as a “firm foundation” for your first steps towards a work at home future. Most of these, I have used personally and continue to use.

1) Set Up A Blog or Website

I really recommend setting up a blog or website. Not only will this eventually become a means to make money, but it is also a great way to meet other like minded people. You can share your experiences, dreams and goals. You never know who may be reading your blog and what opportunities that it may present.

2) Join Twitter And Facebook

This is another outlet for you to network and meet other like minded people. There are hundreds of Twitter and Facebook accounts that are geared towards the Work At Home Market. Job opportunities are often listed through these means. It expands your ability to meet and connect with other people. Try to link these with your blog or website. Basically, you are slowly becoming a online presence.

3) Set Up A Separate E-mail Account

There is a lot of different opinions on this, but this is what works for me. Having a separate e-mail account for my work at home pursuits allows me to keep business separate from my personal account. It also help cut back on spam on your personal e-mails. It’s much easier to manage for me, than to always be scanning e-mail to make sure I don’t miss anything. I get a high volume of e-mail, so this has helped me to stay organized. My favorite, hands down is G-Mail. It’s free, plus the storage space is unbelievable. It still amazes me people don’t use Gmail!

4) Join An Online Work At Home Network

Joining a network is going to further your opportunities and horizons. There are many Work At Home Job forums for many different areas. This will give you a direct insight to jobs that are available. PLUS…the best part…it’ futhers your networking experience. Are you starting to see the trend?

5) Find Successful Work At Home Entrepreneurs

Find a handful of entrepreneurs who share their experiences online and follow them diligently. Read their blogs everyday, join their fan pages, Twitter accounts, forums, newsletters…whatever they offer, soak it up. Staying aware of current trend setters in your dream career can only lead to good things: inspiration, motivation and challenges.

Year ago, I started blogging online. It was a fun and creative outlet for me to share my life with friends around the world. Eventually, I started taking my blogging more seriously, which led to learning about blog design, marketing SEO and more. Now days, I earn a little side income with my blog. I host reviews for products, web sites and sell sponsorships. If you like writing, having a creative outlet and earning a little spending cash, this is a great option.

2.Swagbucks:

At first, I was highly skeptical of using Swagbucks. However, after using it after a few days I was literally hooked. My favorite way to use Swagbucks to my advantage is to trade in my points for gift cards or gift certificates. I get free coffee to my favorite coffee shop and buy movies online. It’s a great way to enjoy spending money, espeically if your finances are tight when you first learn to make money online.

3. Web Site:

I built a web site from the ground up with Wordpress. I feature content, hired writers, e-mail people. Eventually I started using Twitter to promote my web site, wrote articles for others and started making another side profit. The web site tends to have good days and bad days. Some months we make $$, while others we make more $$$.

4. Paid Surveys:

Believe it or not, I really did learn to make a little cash through legitimate survey programs. On one hand, they are far and few in between. The money I made served as our “Starbucks” fund. But, at least it gave us something to look forward too and money to pay for date nights out for our marriage.

5. Ghostwriting:

For years, I’ve worked in the field of ghostwriting. Of all my online jobs, this by far has been the steadiest source of income. I enjoy the opportunity to write on a freelance and assignment basis. It pays well, plus I can literally work anywhere in the world, as long as I have my computer with me.

For as long as I’ve had access to a computer, I’ve found fun ways to sell items online. Usually, after I’ve enjoyed a product I will list it on a third party web site. I’ve sold everything from CD’s to movie, purses to camera equipment to random items.

1. Pay attention to details. Do you see an area in your work that needs to be addressed? Take a couple of days to hone in on that area, and stretch yourself to work even harder. By improving your work, you will also be improving your confidence, and mind.
2. Another way to improve, and gain inspiration is to find other like minded individuals. Sign up for a class, conference, or other learning experience so that you can learn even more! How we do things is constantly involving, and changing so it never hurts to be on the up front of everything by always learning more.
3. Always get a second opinion on your work. Having someone who can give an honest opinion, and critique will improve your overall work, to help you push for even further success. Find someone that you admire, and trust to fill this roll.
4. Take notes from others who are in the same line of business. Right down the things that you admire about their work, and what attracts you to their style. See how you can incorporate these ideas into your lifestyle.
5. Always improve yourself. Read a book, studying quotations, go through your manual guides again. Whatever it takes to constantly keep your mind refreshed is important! You may even find that simply asking for advice, and input from your peers is enough to get you inspired.

1. Start out by building up your web site with followers, and solid traffic. When you do so, it will open up your blog to all kinds of future opportunities.  For example, if your web site is geared to young mothers, you could probably get advertisers in the area of hand sewn baby clothes, children’s items, and more. The advertising on your web site can make you quite a nice stash of cash over a long period of time.
2. The more popular your website becomes, the more likely your chances will increase for you to gain the interest of larger companies. Many of these companies will hire you to review products from their web sites. In exchange they will often pay you in cash, or give you more items for free to give away on your blog. It can be a fun process.
3. Another way you can earn money through your blog, is to sell blogging graphics. For example: Blog headers, blog buttons, edited pictures, etc. You can charge flat rates, and offer it to your readers. Many faithful followers will take advantage of this. Eventually, you could sell your designs on web sites such as Etsy, or other creative outlets. It’s a fun way to let your creative juices flow, and earn money at the same time.

4. You can set your own money earning criteria. Do you want to make a certain amount? You’ll know what prices to charge, and how many projects to take on. Finally, you can enjoy making money, and set your own limits. Money shouldn’t be an issue.

Working from home is no walk in the park, but it does take time and diligence. However, you can reap wonderful benefits for the rest of your life, by simply working for yourself. Stop answering to someone who doesn’t care about you, and care for your own self. You owe to yourself. And you’ll thank yourself later.

For example, if you enjoy writing about money, you could teach others how to budget effectively. In order to make money, you would have to activate Google Adsense, or another service on that article, etc.
• Check on web sites such as Craigslist, where many people are hiring web based jobs in areas ranging from blurb writing, full blown articles, web based articles, SEO generated content, and hundreds of other areas. Simply reply with a sample of your work, website, and resume.
• Sign up with freelance web sites such as Freelancer, or iFreelance. Hundreds of jobs are posted a day, where you can bid on projects of articles ranging on every topic, style, and other criteria. It’s a great way to earn money on weekly, or even monthly basis. Again, it is a good idea to have a sample of your writing, resume, and link to your web site(s).
• Contact Article generated web sites, and submit your own resume. They are often hiring proofreaders, and article writers within their own companies as well.

These four tips should help you get a jump start on writing, as you build & expand your own writing base. Focus on providing content rich articles. You may have to start out small before you can work up into other writing positions. If it takes time, don’t get discouraged, just keep doing your best, and hopefully you will find the home based writing career that you need!

1. Take pictures of everyday common items like coins, flowers, skyscrapers, etc. Learn what are key selling points, then sell them on stock photography web sites.
2. Offer to take pictures for local churches to use in their community directory. Simply use  a black or white sheet as a background, and go from there.
3. If you enjoy fine print art, open a web based store to sell your best work. You can also host your images on blogs, and web sites to feature your work.
4. If you travel a lot, use your photography for major travel companies. They will often pay for good images to host on their web sites when it comes to advertising their destinations.
5. Take a wedding photography class, and offer local photography companies to work on a freelance, second photographer basis. That way you have more flexibility with the job.
