Maybe it’s just my imagination, but there seems to be a lot of controversy over trading links. I’ve heard people share how they don’t add links to other websites on their own…simply because they believe it causes deviation from your own traffic. But, on the flip side, doesn’t that mean that you are a valued reader of other blogs and help ground you as a social blogger?
Maybe I’m looking at this the wrong way, but when someone approaches me about trading links on my work at home blog, I think it’s a great opportunity. I guess I find it to be flattering that someone would want to share my blog with others, and in turn I would do the same for them.
I do adhere to caution when linking to blogs that are questionable or seem to be nothing more than robotic posting. Doing so, would seem to lessen my ability to discern what is good and valuable on the web.
With this in mind, I realized that I need to work on my work at home blogroll. I would make it a goal to share blogs and websites that actually generate ideas that can help others in building their website or blog. They may be few and far in between, but honestly I would have started this blog if it were not for others out there that are willing to share their work at home experience.
I have found useful articles that listed ideas and other information that gave me a starting block on my work at home journey. One such article, I read through, then sat down to apply the principles each day of that week to my own website. As I did, I immediately saw improvement over my income increase as well as traffic increase. That’s always a plus in this line of business, right?
I have had my fair share of bad information that has been floating around the web. Thankfully, due to asking questions and doing my own research. A few of the tips that I read fell short in my attempts. Each time, it gave me more insight as to the careful work that many work at home business gurus go through. I think my appreciation for this line of work as skyrocketed. It’s not easy, and can difficult at times, but I am in this for the long run.
Keeping this information at hand, and working on my own blogroll is another goal added to my list. I want to use the information that I find and apply it. The information turn out to be successful leads to more posts to teach others, and can be added to my blogroll. Those that fail can be left in my trash bin, eh? Ha!
All in all I’ve come to my own conclusion that trading links and hosting blogrolls on my blog and website is beneficial, and helps my social networking status. Whether you agree or not, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Until then, I guess I better get back to working on my goal list and finding new tips to implement for my business.
